About the stand-alone Web Framework

The Web Framework is integrated into Splunk Enterprise 6, so you don't have to install anything to use the Web Framework. But if you're using Splunk 5 (or you have a specific use case with Splunk Enterprise 6), you can use the stand-alone version of the Web Framework. Just download it over there on the right.

Using the documentation

The documentation on this site applies to the integrated version of the Web Framework. If you are using the stand-alone version of the Web Framework, there are a few differences to note:

  • SplunkMap view is not supported in Splunk 5.0. Use GoogleMap view instead.
  • Where the documentation uses the Splunk Web port (8000), use the Web Framework proxy port (3000) instead.
  • Where the documentation instructs you to restart Splunk Web, restart the Web Framework instead (press CTRL+C in the command-line window where you are running the Web Framework to stop it, then run splunkdj run to start it).
